The world is no longer collapsing around me as I have found a job which I will be starting on the 15th October. I have been neglecting alot of things in the past few months and I think the best way to remedy that is to start making myself accountable google ad style.

I am going to be adding to this blog more often then just when I am heading to birmingham on the train. So be prepared to get my ramblings once more, after such a long time.

Coming back on the train has alot to offer those that are willing to look around.

I have become accustomed to the train as I once was with planes many years ago. I can close my eyes and go through the motions with ease to get into my comfort zone. The great thing about being this relaxed is you can take in everything that is around you, rather than falling into your own bubble.

I arrived on the train at new street and needed to get past a girl from wolves to get to my space. I made some conversation as it’s the polite thing to do. What I failed to realise was the stupidity of this action.

The thinking of some people in society really does baffle me, this girl was on her way to Coventry (thankfully 2 stops from new street) and told me how it was impossible to live on benefits. This I can understand is true for many families out there, the next thing she said probably wasn’t. Her boyfriend’s brother thinks David Cameron is a dumbass and could do better than him. Why you may ask? Clearly there wasn’t money in existence at the time of the dinosaurs, yet this is something Mr. Cameron has forgotten.

The last time I heard this level of logic it was over the existence of God. With the evidence being that man has never set foot on the sun. WHY? Do you know how hot the sun is? That was the entirety of their argument for why god exists.

After she left the man across gave me a wry smile and something he said earlier clicked with me. He had several cookbooks strewn across the table and I just thought maybe he was looking for something new to cook. He was for sure but not for just anyone but a high class restaurant. I saw him going through the steps designing, how the dish would look, and the components. It was like watching the planning stages of masterchef for free.

Before I hit London I was joined by a lady with a laptop, which meant I had to budge up a bit, as I usual dominate the table, because of my laptop and various wires. To my surprise she was watching arrested development (one of my favourite shows ever) and for those in the know it was the episode with George Michael in never nude shorts.

Take a look around as Limp Bizkit would say, who knows what you will see

A belated mother’s day

An eye opening weekend, brought to you from Englands 2^nd City.

I headed back to Birmingham this past weekend to see my mom (belated mother’s day), visit my granddad and catch up with people. Arriving home always gives mixed feelings, my life is now in London but it doesn’t stop me having an affinity for Birmingham and the people. This was in full affect with the first place I hit being Pad Thai.

My brother consistently disregards previous plans, for the next fun thing that is out there. Instead of his plan to go watch Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure, it was now karaoke time. I had reservations going there straight from the station with luggage in tow, but what the hell.

Watching the world pass by from outside a karaoke bar is strange at the best of times but in Birmingham it seems to include illegal activities. With several back streets nearby I saw the underbelly of Birmingham which I am very well aware of. Sitting somewhere in excess of 30mins though at midnight is a rare thing for me. Aside from this I spoke to a promoter who popped out for a smoke about Birmingham and London scene of music. It was nice to find out a few places in Birmingham itself I didn’t know about and of course some new ones to hit in London town.

We dropped in for a song or two (kiss from a rose, nothing else can match it). It was an in and out shake it all about deal with no time to savor. Even after I was rather worn down from my journey so I gave what I could, then once we returned to my mate’s house I found some available space and fell asleep under a table (class act).

The major reason for my visit was to see my mom and my granddad. Seeing my granddad was hard for me, I remember him from when I was little being so active and full of zeal. He really is a shadow of that now, with the odd glimmer here or there. Thankfully my gran is still full of it and we all had a laugh at my brother expense of course about why he isn’t married off yet, then she told me to eat some food already. My mom on the other hand was joyful as usual, and gave me a blast from the past. As her mother’s day gift me and my brother were going to take her out to lunch. The thing is the place she wanted to go I hadn’t been to in years and I mean childhood memories territory.

I remembered the place instantly, memories came flooding back of when I was little going there with my mom and brother after shopping on a Friday night. Having fish and chips from there was a regular delight and having it again was great gift for her and me.

So as I head back to London, I am reminded why I love Birmingham soo.
